Yes, I fried something with it.I was really afraid that it won't be a success and I'll just waste all the eggs but luckily, I manage to get it fried properly after one failed try. The hard part about frying an omelette in the rice cooker is keeping the 'cook' button down. First of all, you will definitely need to heat the oil but the thin layer of oil is too light and it will be as if the rice cooker is empty. The 'cook' button will tend to pop up sometimes because of this. It is also super hard to flip the omelette inside a pot which is small in diameter and deep too. These are the main challenges.
BUT I DID IT! :D |
Ingredients:
4 large eggs
1 large tomato
1 large onion
Salt
Pepper
Corn oil
STEP 1: PREPARE THE INGREDIENTS
Wash the onion and tomato. Preferably, soak them in water for awhile if you've got the time. |
Dice the onion into really small pieces. |
Dice the tomato too! |
Tadaaaa! |
These are the ingredients that I used! |
STEP 2: HEAT THE OIL
STEP 3: BEAT THE EGGS
Crack 4 eggs into a bowl. |
Beat the eggs evenly and add some salt based on your preference. Mix the egg and salt mixture evenly. |
STEP 4: SAUTE THE TOMATO AND ONIONS
Add all the diced tomato and onion into the heated oil. |
Let it cook for about 3-4 mins or until soft and fragrant. |
STEP 5: ADD THE BEATEN EGGS
Add the beaten eggs into the pot. Close the lid. |
STEP 6: SERVE!
Carefully use two spoons to dish up the omelettes! Serve when hot! Although it really don't look as good as pan-fried omelette, at least it still tastes just as good ♥ |
Happy cookin' ☺
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I'm in a hostel that has just a rice cooker and a microwave, and all my eggs were getting wasted on burnt omelettes :'(
